Leader ln Me is designed to build resilience and leadership in students, create a high-trust culture, and help improve academic achievement. Leader In Me equips students, educators, and families with the leadership and life skills needed to thrive, adapt, and contribute in a dynamic world.
For teens, life is not a playground, it’s a jungle. And, being the parent of a teenager isn’t any walk in the park, either. In his book, The 7 Habits of Highly Effective Teens, attempts to provide “a compass to help teens and their parents navigate the problems they encounter daily.”
The 7 Habits of Highly Effective College Students is a high-impact student success course that benefits and sustains students at university and beyond. It is designed to enhance student engagement, improve persistence, and strengthen students’ learning. It provides students with skills, tools and mindset they need to succeed in a global and ever changing market-place.
Franklin Covey career readiness courses give students an opportunity to master college, career, and life-readiness skills. Flexible options allow content to be delivered in a full semester or during advisory periods. Once students complete the series of courses, they can be awarded a leadership certificate to showcase on their résumé, college applications, and more.
As Administrators in Tawhiid Islamic School, the LIM program has provided us with a system, which we use to improve the culture of the school and create an environment where teachers, learners and academics thrive. Through the LIM program, the school has created a highly collaborative culture whereby everyone is rowing the boat in the same direction; we have the same vision and pursue the same understood goal. The program emphasizes accountability and modelling; this is helping all staff in their individual personal growth. Self-confidence, responsibility, teamwork, initiative, creativity and leadership are some of the outcomes our school has experienced in both the staff and the learners.
Through the integration of the principles of the 7 Habits and the Islamic values in the lessons and all the daily activities at school, our learners have gained a mind-set and skills set that they can apply in any situation.
Through the Leader in Me our staff can now see every child as capable, every child as a leader. This paradigm changes everything. Because the program is an inside out approach, our teachers have learnt to apply the habits personally and professionally, then model and teach them to pupils. It is gradually providing a common language for teachers, pupils and eventually the parents; that will result in a compound interest effect.
